Welcome to DirectLine!

September 2007

Dear Colleagues and Students,

At the University of Michigan School of Nursing there are many accomplishments to acknowledge and celebrate.  From student milestones to faculty awards and discoveries, from alumni events to technological innovations, new and interesting activities occur with regularity.  Over the last year, I have been frequently and steadily informed about the volume of effort and extensive service delivered daily by faculty, staff and students.  These accomplishments and ever-developing events are exciting and provoke an incredible sense of pride!

In a sincere effort to keep up with you and all the wonderful and enriching news and information, it is with delight that I bring to you "DirectLine,” a way to keep you regularly informed about the SON community news as it occurs.

"DirectLine" is a rapid public communication channel that is delivered monthly. "DirectLine" features news highlights about our School of Nursing community, in a one-page format designed for quick review.  Supplemental resources in the form of online URL's are included when and as available. In addition, breaking news highlights and special announcements are also intermittently delivered as separate issues/alerts when necessary.

And finally, there is a "DirectLine" confidential comments and suggestions section, equipped with the option to identify the sender or to remain anonymous. Two-way communication is key to maintaining a positive, open line of communication. I welcome your suggestions and comments.
