Christina Ziegler

BSN, Class of 2010

Christina Ziegler is a recent graduate of the School of Nursing's Traditional BSN program and is proud to carry on the maize and blue spirit she inherited from her mother, a U-M graduate and public health nurse. Christina grew up in the small town of Crystal Falls, Michigan, and has come to value U-M for its connections at the national and international levels. She appreciates the range of people, cultures, and traditions she found in clinics and on campus, where she met lifelong friends and colleagues from around the world. Outside of nursing studies, Christina volunteered with the Nursing Council and was active in Glee Club, which provided her an opportunity to travel to Europe.

“In addition to studying nursing, the University of Michigan and the city of Ann Arbor offer opportunities to enjoy a balanced life.”

Reflecting on the advantages of the education she received at U-M, Christina especially cites the School of Nursing’s unique approach that not only prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) through classes and clinicals, but also promotes critical thinking and prepares graduates for a successful career and leadership in the real world.

Christina is currently working at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS). Her primary interest is preventative health, and her long-term goals are to earn her master’s degree, teach nursing, and work as a public health nurse.

“People value and respect nurses. We are the patients’ primary advocates at a very vulnerable time of their life.”
