The Honors Program and Its Purpose
The Honors Program of the School of Nursing provides special opportunities for high ability students who seek greater depth in their educational experience.
The Honors Experience
Special Points Of Interest--Students will:

Have the opportunity to work with faculty doing meaningful research

Be mentored by upperclassmen and have opportunity to mentor lower classmen

Cultivate leadership capabilities through community service and involvement in planning/development of Honors activities

Have a chance to meet and interact with leaders in the Nursing Profession

Be mentored by faculty in a small group setting
The Honors Program of the University of Michigan School of Nursing has been established to help develop your intellectual and leadership abilities during your undergraduate career at Michigan.
The Honors Program is for our most distinguished students. Students are selected based on academic achievements and strong motivation to assume leadership roles.
Incoming freshmen, who meet the above criteria, are invited to apply to the Honors Program. Other students who demonstrate these qualities may apply each March. Honors Program participants receive a $2000 scholarship each year.
In order to build a scholarly community, and take advantage of these unique opportunities, students joining the Honors Program will:

Be enrolled as Nursing majors

Enroll in one special research focused Honors at each level

Be strongly committed to pursuing excellence

Attend seminars, meetings and Honors activities on a monthly basis
