Health Promotion/Risk Reduction Interventions
Goals
One- to two-year postdoctoral fellowships are funded by the NINR-supported
institutional research training grant to prepare scientists to study the
fundamental mechanisms underlying the health promoting behaviors of individuals

promotion and health protective behaviors) throughout the lifespan.
- Identifying interactions among genetic, biophysical, behavioral, cultural

- Designing and testing the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of interventions
to bring about changes in individual and aggregate health behavior.

Training support is for a one- to two-year period. Annual stipends are set
by NIH based upon years of experience since doctorate. Additional funds are
available to cover conference and research related expenses.
