Room and Board Scholarship
Recently accepted students (first-years or transfers, as of Fall 2005) have the
opportunity to apply for a full room and board scholarship from the Telluride
Association. While Telluride is not a program of UM, scholarships are provided
specifically to UM students. Once granted a Telluride scholarship, this opportunity
is renewable for up to five years, provided that the individual student meets
minimum criteria.
The Michigan Branch of Telluride Association (MBTA) brings together students
who share a passion for intellectual interchange, a dedication to improving
public life, and a commitment to self-government. Telluride Association owns
and operates a large house near campus, in which approximately thirty UM undergraduate
and graduate students with a variety of academic backgrounds, political views,
and cultural perspectives cohabitate. These students form a vibrant community,
sharing lively conversation, joint projects, and the dynamic experience of
democratic life. Each year, Telluride students plan and implement a major project
that improves public life in the Ann Arbor area. For more information about
the house and to download an application, visit http://www.tellurideassociation.org.
MBTA is currently accepting applications from incoming first year students, as
well as transfer students. Applications must be postmarked by February 14, 2005
in order to be considered.
