Review Entrance Requirements
High school graduates must have:
- Three units of English
- Three units of math (including algebra 1 & 2 and geometry)
- Two units of lab science (including chemistry)
- Two units of social science
- Two units selected from foreign language, and/or lab science
- Four units of any other subject applied to graduation
Additional math and science courses are recommended.
The SAT or ACT are also required. (If you are applying to be a freshman in
the Summer 2006 semester or later, you will be required to submit the results
from the new SAT with the writing section or the new ACT with writing test.)
Register as a prospective student and request application materials. You will be asked to provide general information. Be sure to provide the following information:
- U-M School or College of Greatest Interest: School of Nursing
- My tentative area of study will be: Nursing
While registering as a prospective student, you can also request an application. There are several choices:
On-Line Application
This is the preferred method of applying.*
OR
Print PDF Version of the Application
You may also download the application and print out a paper application. (Printed application needs to be completed by hand or typewriter.)
OR
Hard Copy Application
When you register as a prospective student with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions you can request a hard-copy.
*Though online applications are preferred, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions treats all applications in the same manner, regardless of the method of application.

University of Michigan School of Nursing Undergraduate Application Deadlines
Freshman applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible in the fall of their senior year.
Applicants applying from outside the United States are encouraged to apply as early as possible and at least one month or more prior to published deadlines.
Complete listing of U-M Academic deadlines
Complete the application online and submit electronically. If you are filling out a paper version allow seven to ten days (U.S. Mail) for application materials to reach the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to the published deadlines.
Make sure to enclose $40 for applicants with U.S. mailing addresses and $55 for applicants with International mailing addresses (check or money order payable to University of Michigan; on line applicants may use a credit card).

Supporting Documentation
It's important to get your supporting documentation going. This includes:
- Essay
- High School Counselor Form (4th page of application)
- Official secondary school transcript
Standardized Tests
You'll need to take a standardized college admission test if you have not already done so. The report should be sent to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
We accept the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I). The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor ACT code is 2062, and the SAT code is 1839.
