Ph.D. Program
What are U-M School of Nursing students saying about the program?
"I started my doctoral and master's studies at U of M simultaneously
after completing the second career nursing program at U of M as well. The
last two years were extremely busy for me while I learned how to be a clinician
and a scientist at the same time. However, I do not regret my decision to
pursue the master's and doctoral degrees concurrently. Originally, I selected
this university because of its renowned reputation as an excellent educational
facility. All of my expectations were met and exceeded during the course
of my studies. The faculty of the School of Nursing possess tremendous amounts
of expertise in various fields and willingly share it with their students.
Their goal is to prepare us for future roles as academicians, researchers,
and leaders of our communities. I am proud to work with and learn from such
experts."

Doctoral Student
"Leaving a full-time career to pursue my PhD in nursing was intimidating.
The school of nursing administrative staff was very helpful working out the details
of survival for me. Opportunity abounds in Ann Arbor, and the university resources
are extensive for those who seek them out. Few great rewards in life are obtained
without great challenges, and the university faculty are interested in facilitating
success. The environment is aimed at development of the nurse researcher/nurse
scientist role. There are many programs of research within which one can become
immersed."
