Review Entrance Requirements
RN-BSN applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

Graduation from a state-approved associate's degree or diploma program

Current licensure to practice as an RN in the state of Michigan

Employment as an RN for a minimum of six months or plans to practice concurrently with coursework

GPA of 3.0 or above in previous studies (GPA below 3.0 may be eligible for
admission; contact your local RN program office to discuss your academic
background)

Transfer credit for a minimum of five courses English composition, social
science (two courses in the same field in either psychology, sociology, or
anthropology), & electives

All admission documents must arrive at the appropriate RN
Studies Office by July 1 for the following fall term. Applications
received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis. For
best consideration for financial aid, submit your application by February 1.
Application Procedure
1. Complete the following online:
- University of Michigan application
- Essays (First read the instructions for completing)
- Nursing Supplemental Application (part of the online application)
You can access the online application on the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website . Click on "Apply now!" when you are ready to begin the application. Answer the preliminary application questions as shown:
- Type of student: New Transfer
- School or College: School of Nursing
- Program: BSN Completion for RNs
- Term: Fall 2008 (September)
- Statement: Not applicable.
- ACT/SAT scores, high school information not required
2. Send the following documents to your local RN Studies program office
- Performance evaluation (completed by your supervisor)
- Copy of your Michigan RN license
- Official copies of transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended
3. If you are interested in the RN-BSN-MS program, you will first apply to the RN-BSN program. Start by contacting the Student Advisor . We will arrange an individual information session to explore your career goals and help you with the application process.
