Dr. Gretebeck has conducted a number of intervention studies with an emphasis on lifestyle behavior change such as physical activity (adolescent girls, adult workers, and older adults with chronic illnesses) and tooth brushing behavior of low-income African American children. Dr. Gretebeck is particularly interested in the use of theoretical frameworks to promote adherence of healthy behaviors. She is currently conducting intervention studies designed to improve mobility performance and promote physical activity adherence for community-dwelling older adults with congestive heart failure and type 2 diabetes as well as a blood pressure screening and lifestyle modification for adult blue and white collar workers.
