I am a research psychologist and statistician with a special interest in understanding health related behaviors (i.e., why people do and do not do things that are good and bad for their health). Some of my current and recent projects concern preventive dental behaviors (in collaboration with faculty in Dentistry and the Institute for Social Research), use of hearing protection devices by factory and construction workers (in collaboration with Sally Lusk), various health and risk behaviors among adolescents (in colloration with many School of Nursing faculty members), and patient decision making about treatments for diabetes (in collaboration with faculty in the Medical School and Department of Veterans Affairs). My area of special statistical expertise is linear statistical models including structural equation modeling.
