Crossword Puzzles

Overview

You can create crossword puzzles plugging your own terms and definitions into free puzzle-creation software. Students can print the puzzles or complete them online.

Pairs of clues can be definitions (students write the term into the puzzle), symptoms (students name the disease), uses and side effects (students name the drug), etc.

How to use it

  • Best used as an optional online review exercise - students can get feedback on their understanding yet you don't have to grade anything extra or take class time to do it.

Preparation and materials needed

  • Have the software (Eclipse Crossword software) installed on your computer (you only have to do this once, but you'll need to contact SN-ITS to have them install it).
  • Prepare a list of clues and answers.
  • Plug the clues and answers into the software, and it will create a puzzle for you.
