Getting One-on-One Help

There are several different IT organizations on campus dedicating to serving UM Faculty. The brief descriptions below should help you decide which organization can best meet your needs.

SN-ITS: School of Nursing Information Technology Support

The School of Nursing Information Technology Support team (SN-ITS) can help you with everyday computer problems and troubleshooting as well as answer questions about more advanced computer applications. You can e-mail SN-ITS at any time and you should receive a fairly prompt response. The SN-ITS office is located in the School of Nursing, Room 4237 but please be advised that the SN-ITS team cannot support drop-in requests. Email SN-ITS to make an appointment.

Faculty Exploratory

The Faculty Exploratory is located on the 2nd floor of the Graduate Library, behind the Knowledge Navigation Center. You can take workshops at the exploratory or get one-on-one help with a variety of productivity and presentation software. You can call the Faculty Exploratory during normal University business hours at 647-7406 or e-mail exploratory@umich.edu anytime to set up an appointment.

Knowledge Navigation Center

The Knowledge Navigation Center is located on the second floor of the Graduate Library, near the Reference Desk. The KNC consultants can help you with just about anything though they're especially well-equipped to offer assistance with scanning or graphic design. The KNC is open for walk-in consulting 10:00 - 5:00 weekdays, check KNC website for evening hours.

Media Union Learning Technology Lab

The Media Union Learning Technology Lab offers consulting on a walk-in basis or by appointment. You can learn to use digital cameras, scanners, and other high-end media resources. The lab is located in 1321 Media Union on North Campus. Contact lab consultants by phone (615-5512), or e-mail.

Staffed Computing Sites

There are several staffed ITCS sites on campus, most notably Angell Hall on State Street and The School of Education on East University. Both sites have consultants working during the day and many evening hours. if you have any sort of tough problem that can't wait this may be the way to go.

Technology Instruction for Faculty

Equipment Available to School of Nursing Faculty

You can download a list of all the equipment available to you here or request equipment by printing out this form.
