Giving to the School of Nursing
Gifts in Honor or Memory
Honor
A gift made in Honor of a person is a living testimonial that keeps on giving. It can be made in honor of a person who has made significant contributions or achieved a special milestone or for the person who has “everything”. Such a gift is appreciated by the honoree as well as the School, and benefits students, patient care and new initiatives.
Gift credit is given to the donor, as well as tax credit per the current tax laws. A note confirming the gift is sent to the donor, and a note is also sent to the person being honored telling her/him of the gift and how important that gift is to the School.
Memory
A gift made in memory of a person who has passed away is a special way to honor a respected colleague or a beloved friend or family member. Such a gift creates a legacy and memorializes the person by providing direct assistance to a current student or nursing program.
Gift credit is given to the donor and a note may be sent to the family, as directed by the donor. The note tells of the gift and how important the gift is to the School.
Large gifts to name a scholarship or professorship may be made using one of the University's planned gift strategies.
