Update from the Alumni Society Board President Judith C. Waterston, BSN, MS (biography)

Judith Waterston.Dear Alumni,

Thank you very much for the opportunity to serve as your President of the School of Nursing's Alumni Society. I graduated with my BSN over 35 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't reflect on what I learned during my time at Michigan. I value the friendships that have endured and sustained me and the associations I have enjoyed with Michigan nursing scholars, clinicians and leaders. I am so proud of the education I received and grateful for its rigor and breadth. I owe my satisfaction and success personally, and professionally as a nurse and as a hospital president to the University of Michigan and the School of Nursing.

Over the years, I have lived and worked in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Illinois and now Massachusetts. What joy I experience in returning to Ann Arbor twice a year for the Alumni Society meetings and the opportunity to reconnect with an outstanding group of Michigan graduates that serve you on the Alumni Board. You need to know that these graduates all have an abiding love and appreciation for the School of Nursing and a deep desire to see the School continue to thrive and flourish.

I hope that you will support the U of M School of Nursing by joining or continuing your membership in the Alumni Society. Stay connected through our web site and publications or attend alumni reunions and gatherings. Volunteer to serve on the Alumni Board or one of its committees, or make an annual donation to the School to support scholarships and needed programs. There are now over 80,000 U of M Nursing School alums improving healthcare for millions of people globally. Please stay connected and support the School of Nursing. I look forward to meeting many of you during my term as President.

Best regards,
