The following conferences are excellent venues for faculty and students to engage in nursing research collaboration on a global scale. The Office of Global Outreach encourages you to submit abstracts or attend, and is co-sponsoring some of the conferences listed. XIII Pan-American Nursing Research Colloquium

When: September 5-7, 2012
Where: Miami Beach, Florida

The 13th Pan-American Nursing Research Colloquium is a biennial gathering of nurse leaders, researchers, scholars, and students from around the Americas. The 2012 Colloquium theme is, “Global Nursing Research Challenges for the Millennium”. The Colloquium invites abstracts of research that seeks to:
 
  • Disseminate emerging advances in nursing research from around the globe related to clinical practice, health systems and health services, and education strategies.
  • To advance our collective knowledge in order to support research related to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
  • To strengthen evidence-based practice of nurses around the globe.
Keynote speakers include Donna E. Shalala, former HHS Secretary, Rosemary Bryant, the current President of the International Council of Nurses, PAHO Senior Advisor Luis Gabriel Cuervo, as well as U-M School of Nursing's Associate Dean for Research and Global Affairs, Dr. Antonia Villarruel.

International Conference for Inter-Professional Partnership: Improvement for Global Health Outcomes

The objectives for this conference are to:

5th Asian-Pacific International Conference on Complementary Nursing

When: October 17-19, 2012
Where: Bangkok, Thailand

The theme of the fifth International Conference on Complementary Nursing invites faculty and students to submit abstracts on the theme of, “Beyond Frontiers: Complementary Therapy Integration in Clinical Practice and Research to Promote Health and Holistic Care”. This conference, hosted by U-M Partner Institution Mahidol University, includes sessions on reflexology, herbalism, indigenous healing in multiple Asian contexts, and palliative and end-of-life care from a spiritual, complementary perspective.
