Spring/Summer 2012

Art Therapy: Enhancing Your Healing Process

  • Wednesday, May 9; 5:00 - 8:30pm; Kensington Court Hotel, Ann Arbor, MI
  • Co-sponsored with the Institute for Professional Nursing (IPN)
  • Features Sibel Ozer, LPC, BCPC, ATR, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. 
  • Cost:  $20 for IPN and Sigma Theta Tau-Rho Chapter members; $30 for non-members; retiress and nursing students (ADN or BSN, working on first nursing degree) are only $10.00. This fee includes both the meal and CE.

Leadership Conference 2012: Steering Your Practice into the Future

 

14th Annual Evidence-Based Practice Conference

  • Friday, March 16; 7:15am - 4:30pm, Four Points Sheraton Hotel (3200 Boardwalk, Ann Arbor, MI 48108)
  • Co-sponsored by UMHS, St. Joseph Mercy Health System, and the VA Medical Center with support by Sigma Theta Tau Rho Chapter and Eta Rho Chapters

This annual event provides up-to-date clinical practice information and ideas for incorporating evidence into each nurses' work.  At this event, students, staff nurses, and administrators will find something relevant to their work. 

 

Annual Rho Chapter New Member Induction and Awards Ceremony

  • Sunday, April 1; 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Michigan League, 911 N. University, Ann Arbor, MI (Directions).

This year the Rho Chapter is combining their New Member Induction Ceremony with the annual Awards Ceremony.  Please come to welcome the newest Rho Chapter members and acknowledge your colleagues' leadership and excellence in nursing.  Please consider nominating a colleague for an award no later than February 17, 2012.

Annual Region 10 Research Conference: Bridging Nursing Leadership and Research Diversity and Civility in Nursing: Connecting for Health

Last year's conference received high praise from attendees. This year promises to be even better. UMHS Poster Day: Clinical Innovation, Evidence Based Practice and Research

This year, Rho chapter is focusing on broadening our support for scholarly activities among our members and our nursing community. Come to view the excellent work our UMHS nursing community is doing. The Rho Chapter is sponsoring the People's Choice award. This event is free and open to all Rho members.

 Program: Information Rx - Internet Tools and Resources to Combat Information Overload

  • Thursday, November 3;  5:30pm, Kensington Court Hotel, Ann Arbor, MI
  • Co-Sponsored with Institute for Professional Nursing (IPN)
  • Cost: $20 for IPN or Rho Chapter members; $30 for non-members; $10 for undergraduate nursing students and retirees.
This evening program is a wonderful opportunity to get over the "blahs" and learn how to apply the power of the internet to our personal and professional lives. University of Michigan librarian Marisa Conte shares her expertise on how to find, evaluate, and organize information from the web.  Join your friends and colleagues for a light dinner while earning 1.0 CE.
