Making a Difference in the Community

The School of Nursing operates two nurse managed family health centers in the Ann Arbor area. The community-based practices provide individualized primary health care. University of Michigan Faculty Nurse Practitioners and Midwives work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality holistic care. Over fifty students engage in clinical experiences in these centers each year.

Nurse Managed Centers is a not-for-profit organization that is operated by the University of Michigan School of Nursing (Ada Sue Hinshaw, MA, PhD, Dean and Professor). Nurse Managed Centers are funded by University of Michigan Office of the Provost, University of Michigan School of Nursing, Michigan Department of Community Health, Washtenaw Health Plan, Washtenaw United Way, City of Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Housing Commission, Michigan Department of Community Health, Pfizer Corporation, Kellogg Foundation and private donations. If you wish to make a tax-deductible donation to support the work of the clinics, you may mail it directly to the attention of Carol Zastrow, Clinic Manager at the clinic location.
