UM Nursing Practice Network
Background
The University of Michigan Nursing Practice Network (UMNPN) is a multi-practice
network representing the School of Nursing faculty's commitment to practice,
education and research within the larger community. The UMNPN provides a
structure for the broad range of faculty practices in various settings of
health care. Although the School of Nursing's Faculty Practice Plan (FPP)
has incorporated many of the practices among the faculty, not all faculty
who practice participate in the FPP for various reasons. The UMNPN has the
potential to elevate, make visible and embrace the full spectrum of faculty
practice in the School of Nursing. The Network provides a context for these
valuable and diverse practices and links them with the mission of education,
research and service in the SON. The Network has the potential for making
very visible a strong community of scholars linked with diverse practice
settings and areas of focus. It also has the potential to attract students
and faculty interested in linking practice, research, service and policy.
Mission
The UMNPN promotes practice capabilities of faculty and students to enhance
educational experiences and research relevance to improve the health of the
public.
Vision
The UMNPN advances nursing education and research through innovative
faculty practice. |
