Office of International Affairs

The Office of International Affairs (OIA), the University of Michigan School of Nursing, was established to facilitate the fulfillment of the School's tri-partite mission of teaching, research and service through global activities and partnerships. The Office fosters the involvement of the School in selected international initiatives that strengthen its overall mission, and it supports individual faculty/student initiatives in the international arena.

The OIA provides leadership in developing the nursing discipline and its science within a global community, fosters an international perspective in the teaching, research, and service programs of the School, establishes partnerships with international academic institutions, and provides overall leadership in all international activities.

The OIA has oversight for development in the School's World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Research and Clinical Training in Health Promotion Nursing; it also administers an international scholars program, along with a short-term visitors program to the School of Nursing.
