Guidelines for Faculty International Travel Grants

The Office of International Affairs will make available partial funds to School of Nursing faculty to support their international travel for scientific presentations.

The purpose of this program is to provide faculty opportunities to become part of the global scholarly community by presenting their research and scholarly works overseas, and to establish contacts and networks with international peers.

All regular, full-time faculty are eligible to apply. Individuals are encouraged to locate other sources of funding to augment the OIA contribution. In making funding decisions, preference will be given to major paper presentations, and activities that will support the school’s initiatives toward globalization. For co-authored presentations, funding will be available to one person only.

Requests should be submitted four months in advance of travel. Applicants should submit a letter of request, detailing the budget, other sources of funding obtained or applied to, how the trip will contribute to the school’s global mission, and a copy of the invitation to present. Submit the request to the Office of International Affairs, School of Nursing, Room 3214. No requests will be considered for funding retroactively, or for trips involving one-day attendance at meetings for the presentation alone. Note that individuals will receive funding for one trip in a given year.

Awards will be made on the basis of the above criteria and are subject to funding availability. Awards will be up to $800.
