in Health Promotion Nursing
The University of Michigan's collaborating center on health promotion nursing
is one of 29 centers around the world, dedicated to promoting "health
for all." The activities of our center are in many parts of the world,
with special emphasis in the region of the Americas. The goals [terms of reference]
of our center are listed below:

Collaborate internationally in the development and evaluation of innovative, culturally-sensitive health promotion/disease prevention nursing interventions.

Support the enhancement of nursing and midwifery education, service, and research for the promotion and protection of healthy motherhood and prevention of HIV/AIDS.

Develop collaborative health promotion and disease prevention research projects with colleagues internationally, and disseminate results through appropriate publications and media.

Prepare individuals for leadership positions in the development, administration, management, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives internationally, through special training provided to scholars and doctoral students individually and in groups.

Collaborate with WHO and PAHO in undertaking specific projects consistent with their goals and these terms of reference, in partnership with others.
