Dr. Patricia Coleman-Burns is Director of the Multicultural Affairs and Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, School of Nursing in Ann Arbor. She received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in communication and rhetorical criticism at Wayne State University. Dr. Coleman-Burns’ research emphasis is on the delivery of sensitive, specific, and skillful healthcare regardless of race, class, gender or age. She has also conducted gender and race specific research in the areas of mentioning and networking, and focuses on the history of the “Colored Women’s Club Movement” in the United States.

Rorie, RN, MS, Program Associate
Working in the Multicultural Affairs provides an opportunity to
interact with the many students who come to the office. I work with the
King/Chavez/Parks Visiting Professor Program and help to maintain the many
databases used within the office. I received my BSN and MS from the
University of Michigan and currently am in the Doctoral program.
