Intervention Development and
Measurement Core The purpose of this core is to advance the development of innovative,
culturally appropriate interventions derived from empirically-based theories
of health promotion and restoration. MICHIN scientists can obtain assistance
to:
- develop, adapt, refine interventions
for a specific population
- evaluate
the congruence of protocols with a specific theory
- select
culturally appropriate instruments to detect intervention effects

Core The purpose of this core is to collaborate with MICHIN scientists to
strengthen statistical design and analysis of clinical trials and to
assist scientists developing pilot studies. MICHIN scientists will be
able to obtain:
- statistical consultation
on design and analysis for randomized clinical trials
- assistance
with statistical design and analysis of pilot studies
- information
on new methods of statistical design and analysis

Core
The purpose of this core is to enhance the capability of MICHIN scientists
to identify ways to incorporate translation and dissemination strategies
into existing randomized clinical trials or to developed strategies for
new intervention studies. MICHIN investigators will be assisted to:
- examine
the transportability of intervention protocols by incorporating program
evaluations, cost analyses, and health service resource utilization assessments
into clinical trials
- develop
communication systems for disseminating research results
- identify
potential policy implications of their programs of research
