MICHIN SUPPORT SERVICES
General Project Support:
Keri Kirk is in the last semester of her Clinical Research Administration Master’s program at Eastern Michigan University. She brings extensive clinical experience, including work with patients at MedSport Sports Medicine Clinic, and as member of a number of clinical research teams in the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology and the Medical School Department of Pediatrics. Keri has been the MICHIN Project and Administrative Coordinator since July 2008 and is supervised by Dr. Carolyn Sampselle.
Specific services within Keri’s expertise are:
- Facilitation of IRB approval using eResearch software
- Screening via telephone according to investigator-specified protocol (This allows a centralized contact point covered during most business hours.)
- Assistance with the development of systems for data collection
- Assistance with the development of data management plan
- Preparation of recruitment materials, PowerPoint, or posters
- Submission of required reports via ClinicalTrials.gov
- Focus Group set-up and conduction
Keri’s office is in the MICHIN Center (Room 4214). Her regular hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30 PM. You may contact her by email at kkirk@umich.edu to schedule an appointment, but she is fine with drop-in as well.
Design and Statistical Support:
Ying Guo is in her fourth year of a PhD program in the Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. She has been a graduate student research assistant in the MICHIN Center since its inception in 2005 and will be with us for the 4th year of her doctoral study. She is supervised by Dr. Rod Little in the SPH.
Specific services within Ying’s expertise are:
- Assistance with study design
- Creation/specification of variable measurement
- Conduct of power analysis
- Assistance with data organization plans
- Assistance with data base design
- Conduct of statistical analysis
Ying’s office is in the MICHIN Center (Room 4214 B). Her regular hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 9-5pm. You may contact her by email at guoy@umich.edu to schedule an appointment, but she is fine with drop-in as well. A MICHIN PI or faculty member who is developing an application for MICHIN funding might wish to schedule an informal meeting with Ying, who would then arrange for a more formal review of the work needed in a meeting that would include Drs. Little or Ronis. |
