SoN IT -- Database Development and Support
The SoN IT department, together with faculty, OBFA, and OAA, is developing a School of Nursing database to facilitate in the decision making process. The project is divided into a series of phases.
The first phase includes a series of modules developed and designed to assist with the clinical placement process. It combines information extracted from the Mpathwqays system (i.e. student, course, and registration data) together with contract / agency, site and unit data entered by OBFA to facilitate OAA and clinical coordinators with the clinical placement process.
This initial module is currently being piloted with staff from OAA and OBFA.
If you are considering creating a database, please check with a SoN IT team member (sn-its@umich.edu) to see if the information you need already exists in one of our databases or in M-Pathways. You may not need to reinvent the wheel!
