Viewing Attachments from Pine
Email using version 2.0 of the UM Internet Access Kit
Overview
Pine email itself is unable to view attachments. To view the attachments you must first save the attachment to a file in your IFS home directory then go in with an FTP program and retrieve the file.
Saving the attachment to a file in your IFS home directory
Use Pine to open the email which contains the attachment.
Press "V" to enter the attachment index.
Select the attached file and press "S" to save it to a file
At the bottom of your Pine screen a line will appear that reads: "Copy attachment to file in home directory:"
- If a file name appears to the right of this line just remember this name and hit "return".
- If a file name does not appear here give the file a name and hit return.
- Now hit "E" to exit the attachment index. You should now be back at your email message.
Retrieving the attachment through Rapid Filer

bottom half. The bottom will be your IFS home directory and the top will be
your local hard drive.(it usually defaults to the directory
C:\net\bin)
8. Change the directory on the top half of the screen to the
directory in which you want to store your attachment.
