Answer: Before you start this remember that your Umich and your School
of Nursing LAN passwords are not the same. You use your Umich for email
and your LAN password to get into your files on our server. To change
your Umich password here's what to do....First start host presenter or
telnet just as if you were going to use Pine email. Then when the prompt
comes up to type in your uniqname, type the word "password" without the
quotes instead. You will then be led through the process of changing your
Umich password.
Answer: First, be sure you are using the correct password. Most
login problems occur when people confuse their LAN password with their
email password. These are not the same thing. If you have tried to log
in a number of times and have failed the system will probably temporarily
lock out your account for security reasons. (The system will understand
multiple failed logins as an intruder problem.) If this is the case wait
about 20 minutes and try again. If you are still unsuccessful, contact
the sn-its team and we will reset it for you.
Answer: First, be sure you are using the correct password. Your
School of Nursing LAN password is not necessarily the same as your email
password. If you have forgotten your password you will need to contact
the ITD Accounts office. They can be reached at 4-8000. Their webpage is
located at
http://www.itd.umich.edu/accounts/index.html
Answer: First, when you go to log in be sure that next to the word
"Server:" it reads "School of Nursing 1". If not, click on the grey
button that says "Server:". Then from the list on the right choose
"School of Nursing 1" and click "Select". If the server is correct
and your password still won't work you may be typing the incorrect
password. Email the sn-its team to
have them reset your password.
