Computer Compatibility

Once you have a computer (new or less than 2 years old), use the links below to be sure you have all the free "plugins" you need.

Internet Browser and Plugins

Your browser is the program that lets you look at web sites. You should be using either Internet Explorer (6.0+) or Firefox (1.0+ [download here])

Go to this web page and follow the “Real Player” link that matches your computer’s operating system.

Download free RealPlayer

Click to test your QuickTime audio/video compatibility

Choose a movie trailer; it should start to play without error.

Go to this web page and follow the instructions to download the free player for your type of computer.

Rollover Test

The button should turn red

Internet Explorer (all versions): Open Internet Explorer (IE). Select Tools, then Internet Options, then Security, then Internet, then Custom, then scroll down and select either "Prompt" or "Enable" for both "Scripting of Java Applets" and "Active Scripting"

Netscape Version 7.x: Open Netscape. Select Edit Menu, then Preferences, then Advanced, then check "Enable Java" and "Enable native object scripting."

Netscape Version 4.5: Open Netscape. Select Edit Menu, then Preferences, then Advanced, then select "Enable JavaScript".

You should see an animated circle to the left.

Go to this web page and follow the “Flash Player” link that matches your computer’s operating system. You need at least version 7 of the player.
